Finally, a $70 million Max Millions lottery prize was won.

The Lotto Max prize has finally been claimed after lingering unclaimed for several weeks, despite the fact that the winning ticket was not purchased in Ontario.

In Friday's Lotto Max draw, someone in Calgary claimed the jackpot, totaling $70 million. Six tickets at $1 million each were sold in Ontario.

Two $1 million winning tickets were sold in Nepean, according to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp., along with additional winning tickets in Vaughan, Kitchener, Niagara, and Kingston.

The Dufferin-Peel area, St. Catherines, Brampton, and Toronto each saw the winning of four extra Max Millions tickets, each worth $500,000 total.

In Brampton, a ticket valued slightly more than $274,000 was also sold.

The anticipated $50 million jackpot for the upcoming drawing on October 25 will have two Maxmillion prizes of $1 million each up for grabs.
